Network Distributors’ Quality Management System has five components.
Supplier Management
Unlike some suppliers, ND only partners with high quality hardware manufacturers with a proven track record.
To be added to ND’s approved vendor list, a supplier must have superior design and test procedures, consistent good manufacturing processes and all industry standard certifications.
Part Qualification
Once added to our AVL, each candidate part must undergo a rigorous qualification process that tests and verifies functional performance using laboratory grade test equipment.
Next, we test each candidate part in a wide variety of OEM network equipment. Parts from multiple hardware manufacturers are tested and only the best-in-class part is down-selected to be added our stock inventory.
Application Pairing
For each individual customer order, we select the best-fit part for a specific OEM switch and application. This critical step is based on many years of experience as open optics specialists.
Subtle differences in hardware and firmware versions and software releases can affect field operational performance differently between OEM switch models. Our process corrects for these variations.
Programming and Test
The selected parts are programmed to the customer / OEM’s specification and tested in the same or similar switch and software version.
All test results are automatically recorded per serial number.
Continuous Improvement
The fifth part of ND’s QMS system is continuous improvement.
Each component of the Network Distributors’ supply chain, qualification and manufacturing procedures is analyzed and improved to reduce defects.

Real World Testing
Unlike some suppliers, we don’t use generic, batch testing. Every optic we make is 100% tested in a matching OEM switch. Our extensive compatibility database enables ND to quickly program an optical transceiver to work flawlessly in a specific OEM brand, family, model or even software version.
Our experienced technicians functionally test each transceiver in the matching OEM switch to ensure that it works perfectly right out of the box. Test results of key performance parameters are automatically saved per serial number as part of our total quality control system.

Lifetime Guarantee
Unlike the limited-time warrant offered by OEM brands, Network Distributors offers the original owner a lifetime hardware replacement warranty. ND will replace a part that fails when it’s be used within the product’s specifications.
To make a warranty claim, simple return the product Network Distributors. We will investigate the failure to determine the root cause (in order to prevent a reoccurrence) and send back a qualified replacement.
This warranty extends from purchase date until the replacement part becomes obsolete and is no longer commercially available.
